You Are An ENFP

The Inspirer

You love being around people, and you are deeply committed to your friends.

You are also unconventional, irreverent, and unimpressed by authority.

Incredibly perceptive, you can usually sense if someone has hidden motives.

You use lots of colorful language and expressions. You're quite the storyteller!

In love, you are quite the charmer. And you are definitely willing to risk your heart.

You often don't follow through with your flirting or professed feelings. You break a lot of hearts.

At work, you are driven but not a workaholic. You just always seem to enjoy what you do.

You would make an excellent entrepreneur, politician, or journalist.

How you see yourself: compassionate, unselfish, and understanding

When other people don't get you, they see you as: gushy, emotional, and unfocused

The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed. Well let's see.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Cross out the ones you started but didn't finish
5) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read 6 and force books upon them ;-)

I mispoke (miswrote?) yesterday. Its actually 75 degrees outside today and beautiful. Everyone is out with their dogs, playing kickball in the park or just walking. It made me want a dog for about 10 seconds because annabella has never taken well to a leash. I even saw what I think was a tai chi lesson in the park but I can't be sure.

I've been to the gym this afternoon and was it my lucky lucky day! UDA National Dance Team Championships were on ESPN2! Seriously this is like my guiltiest of guilty pleasures. I love dance teams, poms and cheerleading. The precision! The basket tosses! Who will win? Who will lose? Sadly I did not stay for the cheerleading portion but I'm sure it will be on again (and again).

I'm not sure what I plan to do for the rest of the day. I need to finish the Sunday NYT, continue to read Plenty and write thank you notes (yeah, right). Sadly, I just realized that it is currently Pledge Drive on my public tv station which means bullshit programming for the next 2 weeks. And seriously, they need to get some new shows on there. I don't know how many times I can turn on the tv and see Celtic Woman is on again (or as I call them, the Celtic Bitches!) Who watches these shows? Cross your fingers and hope that this pledge drive is mercifully short.

paul and me

Happy Friday!

I am completely running on adrenaline right now. Both yesterday and today I woke up at my usual workday time (even though I wanted to sleep in) and just had to get up. No time for a proper post, just a quick bulleted list:

  • Yesterday was really awful --- I didn't take good care of myself at all. I let my parents bring me down and it was bad.
  • I finally finally finished my necklace that I am wearing tomorrow. I had to redo the entire thing because I wasn't happy with it. After many stressful attempts, it's done and ready to wear.
  • My sister arrived on Wednesday night and has been wonderful. I thanked her wonderfulness by hanging up on her last night. Nice.
  • Andrew missed his first flight but he finally arrived and we had a great dinner together last night.
  • [info]iheartallison07 arrives today and I'm really excited to see her!
  • Party tonight. Wedding tomorrow. I've got lots of stuff between now and then.
Sunday night we are headed to Clarksville for our mini-moon. I'm probably going to sleep for the entire time. Catch you all later!

Totally not surprising results

What Be Your Nerd Type?
Your Result: Literature Nerd

Does sitting by a nice cozy fire, with a cup of hot tea/chocolate, and a book you can read for hours even when your eyes grow red and dry and you look sort of scary sitting there with your insomniac appearance? Then you fit this category perfectly! You love the power of the written word and it's eloquence; and you may like to read/write poetry or novels. You contribute to the smart people of today's society, however you can probably be overly-critical of works.

It's okay. I understand.

It's totally springtime here in St. Louis!

The high today was in the upper 70's. Sunny and warm

When I drove through the park on my way home, I saw tons of people walking and just hanging out.

But best of all, this is in bloom:

Ah springtime in St. Louis --- you come early and leave way too soon.

ps . Thanks to [info]roxy_fondue for the wonderful birthday package. You are the bestest. The soap smells heavenly and the chocolate is delicious (and fair trade! and organic!). Thank a million my dear.

Question

Is it wrong that I have been rocking out to the Power Ballads station this afternoon? It totally takes me back to the late 80's and junior high. All I wanted was to be loved and thats what most of these songs are about.

A sample of my playlist:

Damn Yankee – High Enough
Van Halen - When It's Love
Heart
- These Dreams
Def Leppard
- Love Bites
Nazareth
- Love Hurts
Poison
- Every Rose Has Its Thorn
Mr. Big
- To Be With You
White Lion
- Wait
Guns N' Roses
- November Rain
Motley Crue
- Home Sweet Home
Skid Row
- I Remember You
Extreme
- More Than Words
Night Ranger
- Sister Christian
Whitesnake
- Here I Go Again

I hope I hear "Fly High Michelle" next!

Friday Five

This Friday Five is really stupid but I have a few minutes to kill.

1. If you were a crayon, which color would you want to be?
periwinkle was always my favorite, such a nice shade of blue

2. Which color do you think you would be regardless of what you wanted?
burnt umber, my least favorite crayon and always the crayon in the best shape. hmm, maybe thats not me!

3. Would you rather be used and get blunt, broken and lose your wrapper, or not be used and stay pristine?
used, blunt, broken and losing my wrapper. Who wants to be pristine?

4. Would you rather be in a small set of crayons or a large set?
large set - variety is the spice of life

5. Would you rather be Crayola, or a different brand?
are there any other brands?

While purusing the zap2it site so I could tell [info]demiraks_world's what time the super bowl was on, I noticed an all-day marathon of TLC's What Not to Wear. This could throw a serious wretch in my to-do list! I love me some stacy and clinton.

the icy north

I am back from  Minneapolis. I just tried to catch up on my flist but you all write way too much! I was only gone for 3 days. So if something important happened, please let me know.

I had such a fabulous time with my sister and I got to catch up with my mpls peeps (It seems like I never have enough time with them!). But I have reached an important conclusion:

I never want to live in the Twin Cities ever again.

It was just too freaking cold. Yes, I know there are a lot of great things about living there but dude, the cold is just too much for me for now. I had to ask my sister if I ever went outside when I lived there and apparently I did but I have no idea how I left the house during the winter at all. To ladies that live there now, I have some great great respect for you. You are some hearty bitches!

Vegan Cupcakes and Quaker Fights

Two news articles:

The first one was emailed to me from my faux-MIL and should be good reading for anyone who likes cupcakes, vegan or not:
Strict Vegan Ethics, Frosted with Hedonism.

I also woke up to the news that there had been an altercation at a Quaker college. Luckily it wasn't  my Quaker college. Whatever happened to peace? Football Players Charges Following Fight at Guildford College.

I had my first class for the semester last night. It was supposed to be Organizational Assessment but really its Organizational Learning. Its in the psych department and as soon as I walked through the door, I could tell it was going to be a different class than last semester. In actuality there are four of us from last semester's Org Theory class but only one is a truly obnoxious person and I can overlook him. He was one of the rudest and most disruptive from last semester. He likes to talk a lot and use fancy words but really I think I can tune him out.

There are only three assignments that we have to complete including a final oral exam. I am feeling somewhat puzzled by that but I am sure it will become more clear in the next 16 weeks. Also we may get a week off since our professor is presenting a paper at the National Conference for Industrial/Organizational Psychologists! I have a much better feeling about this class which I hope doesn't wear off.
